Employment/Volunteer Opportunities

Despite its name, the YMCA is not just for men or Christians, but an association of members who come together with a common understanding of the YMCA's mission and a commitment to the YMCA's vision of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

Employment Opportunities: The Butler Street YMCA offers both full-time and part -time career opportunities in a variety of areas. However, we don't have any position available at this time. But, the YMCA is always looking for talented people who are interested in making a difference in the lives of the under served. Please check our National Vacancy list for job opportunities at other YMCAs.

Volunteer Opportunities: At the Butler Street YMCA, your time and talent go a long way. Every hour you spend as a YMCA volunteer translates into the caring attention a child or teen needs to grow up healthy and resilient. It translates into support for families so they can be successful and strong. Into healthier lives for people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and incomes. Into a safer, more viable community that is a good place to live and work.

As a YMCA volunteer, you will be able to lead an exercise class, read to a pre-school class, coach a basketball team, cook for a bake sale, design a program brochure, greet people at the front desk, find items for an auction, serve as a role model for young people, help out in the office or at a special event, or be part of a group or committee working on a neighborhood problem. No matter how you help, you'll make a difference as you work with others to create a feeling of connectedness in your community.
